365 Journal 2014 – Day #9

It was so ironic that Mr Wright and I were talking about childhood memories this afternoon and then I saw that today’s journal prompt was to write about a childhood memory!

Write about a childhood memory. Write everything you remember about it. When it was, where it was, how old you were. Write down who was there with you, how you felt, why you think you can remember it… If you have a photo you used as a prompt you can include that too. Or you can draw a part of the memory. For instance, a particular toy or some clothes that you remember vividly

There are plenty of options I could have chosen from, for example the horrible matching knitted jerseys my Mum made my sister and I wear for a portrait. Urgh. But here’s what I chose:

Lesson learnt!

365 Journal Day #8

Today’s prompt was really easy, and super fun!

Write the word LOVE in the centre of the page. Then from this, like a brainstorm, draw branches coming from the centre word and record all the words you can think of that come to mind. Don’t be inhibited – write whatever springs into your thoughts. You can even draw in little hearts and gorgeous things that inspire you when you think of love…

So here’s my page

365 Journal 2014 – Day #7 (A day off)

I’m having a day off from my 365 Journal today, but I am leaving the prompt anyway incase anybody needs it:

Take your journal to the park. Sit down under a tree and write what you see, hear, smell and feel – both physically and emotionally. You can decorate however you like. Draw little leaves, press in a flower…

Not only did it rain all afternoon, I did not have time for a visit to the park today.  I worked till 3pm.  Then I got my car registration sorted as well as the fortnight’s grocery shop.  I came home long enough to unpack the groceries, and then left again to go on the treadmill at my Mum’s.  I then came back home and posted the three posts I was supposed to get up over the last couple of days.  So, no time for a visit to the park.

I’m not too fussed though, I have got A LOT accomplished today including making a final payment on one of my outstanding debts.  Couldn’t be happier right now!

365 Journal 2014 – Day #6

I didn’t think I would end up doing my journal page yesterday.  I was so tired, had the worst sleep of my life the night before.  Regardless, I was just settling down before bed and decided to pick up my Filofax and make a start on the prompt for which was:

Draw something today, anything you like. It doesn’t matter if you don’t think you’re good at drawing. It can be a a self portrait, a stick figure, a mess of lines or a detailed masterpiece of your pet! Just draw whatever is on your mind. If you drew it in black or lead pencil, add a splash of colour somewhere. You can add in different materials, shapes and fun embellishments like sequins or glitter, or keep it simple and stylish. Just make sure you have fun.

I ended up finishing and before I knew it, it had turned into a masterpiece with a little inspiration in there too….

Unfortunately I didn’t get around to posting it last night which is the same for a few posts I was supposed to put up.   So here it is!

365 Journal 2014 – Day #5

My hand is really sore from doing today’s journal page! The prompt was

Write a page in stream of consciousness. That means simply put your pen to paper, pick a word or a thought, and start writing. Don’t stop writing or take your pen off the page until you reach the end of the page. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t make sense, just let your thoughts continue and your pen keep notating them. Read it afterwards. What subjects or themes did you thoughts keep returning to? Take note and even if you can’t think of their significance at that moment, it might offer an insight when you return to that page further down your journaling project.

So here it is. I’ve blurred it out, not coz there was anything scandalous in there, just coz it’s full of random thoughts that are kinda personal. Gotta keep some things to myself right?

I also used this as one of my #5onthe5th pics. I’ll post the rest of those later on once I’ve put them all on Instagram.

365 Journal 2014 – Day #4

Today’s prompt is…

Finish this sentence: If I could be anywhere in the world right now… Just imagine! The possibilities are endless. Draw a picture of that place or stick in a photo of it or an image that represents it…a beautiful, inspiring page that takes you to that place no matter where you are.

I chose the Gold Coast, because that was my most recent holiday and the memories I brought back from there make me feel all fuzzy inside.

If I was rich, I would just zip over there all the time on weekends to spend a day at the beach, or show the kids around the area we stayed in.  Dreams are free!

365 Journal 2014 – Day #3

A late post tonight, I’ve been busy playing Nintendo and then went out for dinner so have just completed today’s Journal Prompt now.

Today’s prompt is

Write your name down the left-hand side of the page, like you would for an acrostic poem. Next to each letter write a positive attribute that describes you beginning with that letter. This is a page which you can always look back on to remind yourself of your unique talents and beautiful traits. It’s easy to forget the things that are special about ourselves especially when facing challenges. Don’t forget those unique attributes that make you, you.

So, for those of you that don’t know, my full name is Emily.  I came up with words for !, L and Y really quickly.  My partner came up with M because I was completely stumped, and for E, I went with my original word even though I was trying to find a shorter word so it would fit better.

It was actually harder than I thought it would be!

Image

My partner’s word for the letter E was exquisite.  It made me laugh because he said it without hesitation and I thought it was so sweet!  But this exercise was how I see myself, and although I feel like I am a pretty self-confident person, I don’t see myself as exquisite.  I love that he does though!

365 Journal 2014 – Day #2

It’s gonna suck when I have to go back to work next week because I have been quite enjoying doing my 365 Journal in bed in the mornings!

Today’s prompt is:

Record your favourite inspirational quote. You can refer to this at any point during the year when you feel you need a little extra encouragement. Write the quote in your favourite colour and style and feel free to decorate however you like.

I came across this particular quote last night so I already knew that I wanted to include it on this page.  I don’t really have a favourite quote (apart from Live, Laugh, Love), so I wanted to do something that is inspirational to me right now.  And this is.

365 Journal 2014 – Day #1

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Today’s Journal prompt was fun and I didn’t have any trouble filling the whole page!

Write down all your dreams and hopes for the year ahead. These can be as detailed or as simple as you like. For example; Own My Own Home, Become a Leader, or simply Keep a Journal! Nothing is too small or too big. Let yourself be inspired and put that pen to paper.

I have covered a couple of personal ones with some Rock Paper Scissors arrow tags but without further ado, here are my 2014 hopes and dreams…

I feel like writing this list has started my year on a really positive note and I couldn’t be happier right now!

But I’ll talk about that later. After I moved all my pages from my old Filo to my new one, I went ahead and worked on today’s 365 Journal Prompt.

It was

In big, bold bright letters on your page write…THIS YEAR I WILL DO MORE OF WHAT MAKES ME HAPPY

So here it is

I’m writing this post from my phone so I hope it turns out ok. We’re getting ready for our New Years Eve BBQ so I’m blogging on the go!
